Articles: The CMCA 16th Anniversary rally
Fun and frivolity in the Australian outback with 1100-odd other motorhomes, or is that 1100 other odd motorhomes?

From the the 20th to the 27th of May 2002 the CMCA held its 16th anniversary rally in the central Queensland town of Barcaldine. Here are a few photos from the rally.

One of the showground ablution blocks. Now I know they said it was a "back to basics" rally, but really.

The sites where only 5m wide at this rally because of the limited space. Some people were a bit close to each other but overall it seemed OK.

Not everyone was crowded though, it was just the luck of the draw.

Note the satellite TV dish in front of the second rig. These are becoming more common although they're still too expensive for me.

Some rigs where more finished that others :-), actually Swagman had two of their chassis on display. A clean slate like that is enough to make you think about building another rig.

What a classic, an original Ansair Flxible Clipper.

Now that's a slide-on. The truck had been removed to facilitate repairs to a gas line.

Some people get by with only one solar panel, others need 16. You have to look at your usage requirements.

Suzuki 4x4s are probably the most common vehicles used as "toads".

I guess it was just all too much for some.
