During
the span of this diary my Mum died. She'd
been sick for a long time so the news
wasn't unexpected, but somehow that didn't
help.
I
suppose I went through all the usual emotions,
including the "I should have been
there" and "maybe if we weren't
living on the road I would have
been there" guilt trips.
But
if I was still working I would have been
lucky to get any time off at all, as it
was our new lifestyle allowed me to spend
nearly two months with my Mum and Dad
not long ago. Try getting two months off
work to stay with your sick Mum, you'd
be pushing to get a week or two's compassionate
leave for the funeral.
So
I can thank our lifestyle for letting
me spend time with my Mum before
she died.
Goodbye
Mum, we all loved you, I loved you, and
still do.
