The lead image was of the moon and a toolshed near the hut. Can you spot anything that indicates this shot is not all it seems?. See here for the answer.

Note the extensive use of full bleeds and dropped-out copy in this article. This showcases the images well and it is very gratifying when a magazine treats the photography this way.

Answer.
There is some inconsistancy between the lens focal lenghts used for the moon and the shed. The shed is quite obviously shot with a wide angle lens. If the same lens had been used for the moon it would be a tiny speck that wouldn't even show after reproduction.

The shed was shot with a 28mm and was flash painted with the shutter open for a minute or so. Then I changed lenses to a 300mm and shot the moon at (as I remember) 250th @ f5.6. Remember that, no matter how dark it is, the exposure for the moon is the same as a normal daylight photo. If you intend including it in a shot that requires a long exposure you'll have to come up with a trick like this to ensure that the moon is correctly exposed.
