#00046, Roots & Leaves

I often peruse maps with a view to getting some idea about good locations and the day I took this shot was no exception. I earmarked a small bay in the Noosa National Park as a likely spot and set off, unfortunately maps often only tell half the story.
After an hour or so wandering on the sandy tracks I was getting near the bay and starting to notice that the few people I encountered were not only dressed somewhat skimpily (even for a beach) but they where giving me strange looks.

I bounded down the steps onto the beach and could hear the soft white sand squeak under by heavy boots. I was wearing full-on bushwalking gear and was just about to doff the backpack and maybe my sweaty shirt when I realised my situation.
I had blundered straight into the midst of a nudist colony.

Now if you found yourself naked in the middle of town you would expect to feel a little out of sorts but I would not have thought the reverse would be a problem. I rebounded as if I'd been struck by lightning and bolted into the dunes...straight into what was obviously the area reserved for gay nudists.

I eventually settled down and returned to the search for an image, finding this one before long.
