#00145, Noosa Dawn
I just love long exposure shots of the ocean, partly because you can get such a surreal affect, but also because you never really know exactly what affect you will get.
This shot was taken just before dawn at Granite Bay in the Noosa National Park. I liked the wet look of the rocks in the foreground but, as is often the case, could not really nail down what I thought "made" the shot, I just liked it. So I took it.
A bonus, that was not apparent until printing, was the movement in the clouds. They were fairly low and moving fast and so display quite pronounced movement with the three-minute exposure.
Seven years later I was standing in the same place, and made Noosa Dawn Too (#00317) .
