#00206, Storm Cloud, Quilty's Mountain

Hidden Valley in the Budawang Ranges is one of my all-time favourite places. As the name implies the valley is tucked away in the mountains, a peaceful secluded refuge from a hectic world.

At the rear of the campsite is an area of rock formations that form small gorges and caves. It's a delight to explore, and from the top you can see across valleys on both sides.

Also, to the north, can be seen Quilty's Mountain, the large mesa that forms a base to this photo.

Storm clouds were forming above one of those great "painted skies", and a red filter helped to bring out the tones. As I was not interested in retaining any detail in the mountain I exposed for the darkest part of the clouds and let Quilty's drop into silhouette.
