#00207, Mercuric Stream

I'm not sure if I actually saw just how this water would appear when I made this image.

Certainly, with a one-minute exposure, I expected it to be totally blurred, but when I eventually made a print and saw that it looked like flowing mercury I was astounded.

Sometimes your subconscious sees things that cause you to take a photo and it's not until you see the results that you realise why.

The other thing I like in this shot is the rock that's resting on the tree branch in the upper left. It's too large to have been washed there and I can't imagine someone placing it there so how did it get there?

Maybe the tree just grew up under the rock.
