#00242, The Castle's Tail

The Castle is a large mesa in the Budawang ranges, and the line of cliffs leading away from the camera is known as the Tail.

After a hard walk up the trail from Yadboro flats, David Houlder and I had made camp at the Saddle, the pass at the end of the Tail you can see towards the top of this photo.

It had been a tiring walk and we weren't all that inclinded to follow it with a climb up the Tail. But then you never know what photos you might find.

The light was failing and we realised that it would not be possible to reach the top of the mountain before dusk. We elected to set our cameras up on a narrow ledge about half way up the mountain.

I made three images with The Castle's Tail being the first.
