#00258, New Snow at Guthega
I was on a short cross-country skiing trip and climbing up through the spring snow into Conset Steven Pass when I came across these footprints in the new snow and could simply not resist making a photo.
People tell me that these prints are caused by a fox, I have no idea but did like the texture in the snow and the fact that whatever animal did cause the foot prints it was obviously quite sprightly as there is a break in the prints indicating a jump.
The high-key nature of this shot makes it difficult to print, there is an incredibly fine line between having no detail in the snow at all and printing it down too much thereby making it look dull and muddy.
