#00266, Stringy Bark

I often used to be asked to go out to peoples properties with a view to getting some images. I would keep the copyright to any photos made but would give the owners a 10x8 or two. Naturally they were free to buy some more prints :-)

The trouble was that, although these places were invariably picturesque and great to live in, they were not always photogenic. Even if there was potential, usually the light was not right on the day and I was not prepared to return several times in the hope of getting the right light.

Because of this I stopped accepting these offers.

On this occasion I wandered around the entire property for hours and saw nothing. Finally, as I returned to my car I saw this great tree with bark hanging all over it. I made this image and really like it but the owners were not impressed. I guess most people want more than a close-up of a tree when they ask you to photograph their 60-acre dream.

And yes I know it's not a "Stringy Bark" tree, it's just that the bark looked stringy.
