#00408, Isle of Legend

This island is really called Sugarloaf Rock, but that didn't seem mystical enough for me.

It wasn't until I finally viewed a print of this image that I decided what to call it.

Rather than just being a rock off the Australian coast, I felt this looked more like the stuff of Celtic legend, somewhere that a giant, or dragon, would live.

The island was hazy, due to the sea spray and the against-the-light angle, and I enhanced this haziness to make it look more distant and aloof.
