#10604

A tiny pool of dew lies in the crook formed by the trunk and a branch of a young bat wing fern. The water looks like a piece of torn silver foil.

I originally intended to photograph this scene with in full sun. However, as I approached the plant I briefly shaded it, and realised that this totally changed the dynamics of the lighting.

When I shaded the plant the major light source changed from the sun itself, to the sunlit grass in the background. When backlit the veins in the leaves stood out nicely, and vastly improved the photo.
