#10682

I'd been lying on the sand for ages watching these Silver Gulls. After a while I could see that one of them was getting nervous about something. Maybe there was someone approaching behind me, I didn't know, and also didn't want to turn around to find out, as it was becoming increasingly obvious that the bird was about to do something.

As the bird's nervousness became more frantic, I depressed the shutter release almost all the way. When I saw movement in the body and wings I pressed it all the way.

As usual with this type of photo the action is too fast to see at the time. You just fire and see what you get.
