#14711

This goanna's territory included our campsite. I saw him on several occasions over a period of a few days but he was always in a bad position, either in amongst the bushes or in bad light. On this occasion his head was out in the clear.

The use of a 300mm lens on a 25mm extension tube allowed me to keep a good working distance and not spook the animal. This combination has almost no depth-of-field however, so it's important to try and keep the subject's features parallel to the film plane.
