The Mitchell plateau in Western Australia's Kimberley region is a must-see destination for most Aussie off-road travellers. The main attraction of the plateau is Mitchell Falls, but to get there you must cross the King Edward River, and this is where this photo was taken.
You can camp along the river and it's safe (no crocodiles) to swim so of course this spot is very popular, but then 'very popular' in the Australian Outback still means you can have the place almost to yourself.
This shot was taken at dawn; you can just see the first rays touching the trees at the very top of the photo.
